We learn something interesting about life in Job 14:1 – That it is rather short and at times troublesome for everyone! Whether we are rich or poor, old or young, educated or illiterate, saved or unsaved, life will be tough sometimes! And Job reveals in this verse that because trouble is the equalizer of humanity, anyone who is born of a woman (and that’s all of us), will encounter many, and various types of trouble over the course of our lives. It is against the backdrop of this reality about life, that Jesus shows up in John 10:10 with a message of hope and a better way of living that He calls Abundant Life! As such, He is declaring Himself the Gamechanger of life! Because of Adam and Eve’s sin, mankind lost the quality of life we were meant to have and were originally created with, and instead inherited a life full of troubles. Jesus came to fix that problem, suffering and dying for our sins, and rising again to bring a new kind of life – “Life More Abundantly” - to all who believe in Him.
